EGGS-
Culex lay their eggs in clusters and vertically in water. Their eggs are cigar shaped, without any lateral floats. Culex always lay their eggs in dirty water.

Anopheles lay their eggs singly and horizontally in the water. The eggs carry lateral floats which help them in floatation. Anopheles always lay their eggs in clean water.

LARVA-

The larva of culex lie at thr bottom. They have a long siphon which helps them in breathing.

Anopheles's larva remain at the surface of water. Their respiratory siphon is short.

ADULTS-

Culex adults rest parallel to the surface. They have transparent wings and are able to fly for long distance.

Anopheles adults are always inclined at an angle of 45 to the surface when at rest. Their wongs are spotted and are unable to fly for long distances.
