Difference between curved surface area and total surface area of hemisphere

In curved surface area the area of base n top are not included whereas in total surface area all the surfaces r included... This question is relevant to solids like a cone, cylinder, hemisphere etc.Curved surface area or lateralsurface area is the area of thecurved surface on these.Mar 4, 2017

HERE IS THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION.....


Curved surface area of a hemisphere means only the bent part of it , i.e,the part which looks like half of a sphere. Total surface area of a hemisphere is the circular top of a hemisphere + curved surface area of a hemisphere. So the formula goes like this:

#Curved surface area of hemisphere= 2πr2

#Total surface area of hemisphere= 2πr2 + πr2 = 3πr2
