Answer:
- Layering is a method in which branch of the plant with at least one node is bent towards the ground and a part of it is covered with moist soil leaving the tip of the branch exposed above the ground. after sometime, new roots develop from the part of the branch buried in the soil. The branch is then cut-off from the parent plant, The part which has developed roots grows to became a new plant.
Examples: Nerium, Jasmine, etc.
- Cutting - portion of a stem, root, or leaf cut from the parent plant for the production of a new independent plant by inducing it to form shoots and roots under favorable environmental conditions (for example, stem cuttings, leaf cuttings, leaf-bud cuttings, and root cuttings)
Examples: Raspberry, Blackberry, Rose, etc.
