Dative or coordinate bond is when one atom has a lone pair of electrons and the other lacks a pair of lone electrons.....Eg. Formation of hydronic my ion....
Covalent bond is formed when two or more atoms form a bond by the mutual sharing of electrons....Eg. Water.
