DM is the simplest form of differential pulse-code modulation where the difference between successive samples are encoded into n-bit data streams.
In delta modulation, the transmitted data are reduced to a 1-bit data stream. Its main features are: The analog signal is approximated with aseries of segments.

Answer:
Difference between delta modulation and adaptive delta modulation
DM :
- It is one of the simplest method of converting analog signals into digital data.
- In delta modulation, step size is fixed. It is not varied.
- In delta modulation, we have slope over load distortion problem and granular noise problem.
- feedback is present in the transmitter of the delta modulation.
ADM:
- This is also a simple method.
- In Adaptive delta modulation, step size is not fixed. It varies as per the variations of the signal.
- In adaptive delta modulation, we have only quantization noise problem. this noise arises due to the process of quantization.
- Feedback is present in the transmitter like delta modulation.
