DEMOCRACY
It is a system where the people govern themselves through their elected representatives. This gives rise to the concept of democratic elections.
People have Rights, conferred on them by the Constitution/Statutes/Judgement of Courts. Eg= Part 3 of the Indian Constitution confers Fundamental Rights on the People of India.
In modern day Democracies Rights are being balanced by the Fundamental Duties ought to be performed by the citizens. Eg= Part IVA of the Indian Constitution prescribes the Fundamental Duties.
REPUBLIC
It is a system of governance where the Head of the State (President) is elected by the people, either through direct or indirect elections.

In simple terms, Democracy is where people choose that who will govern them. In Democracy every person regardless his status in society has right to participate in the decisions taken for all, decisions are taken by majority of opinion (votes) so this represents Direct Democracy. But nowadays having huge population and country’s large territory asking each and every person’s opinion and to make a decision is almost impossible. So, Indirect Democracy (Representative Democracy) is popular all over the world where people choose their leaders to represent them. In the core centre of the concept democracy is to maximize benefits for every person in the society and distribute it unbiased. The famous definition of Democracy says it all, Democracy is Of the People, By the people and For the people.
Republic:
Republic means that head of the State/Country is chosen by people and not a hereditary post. Head of the country is chosen by fixed period of time and people have right to remove/impeach the person if people want. All public offices are open to every citizen of the country to hold any post in lawful manner. This kind of Country is called Republic Country like, India, USA. UK, Japan and North Koera is not republic because head of the is a hereditary post there.
Democratic Republic means that Country is Republic and believes in Democracy
