The difference between descending and ascending loop of henle is as follows:
Explanation:
- Loop of henle, is a U shaped structure of the proximal convuluted tubule. It conducts the urine within nephron. It can be found in mammals, reptiles and birds in their kidneys.
- The ascending loop does not allow the passage of water instead it allows the passage of electrolytes either actively or passively whereas the descending loop allows the passage of water thus it is water permeable in nature but it does not allow the passage of electrolytes.
- The ascending loop allows the concentrated filtrate to pass upward whereas the descending loop causes the concentrate filtrate to move down.
