DESTRUCTIVE tests involve damaging(at least) some of an element or structure. some like to included purpose- moulded cylinders or cubes or prisms.
for example, drilling cores or load testing to failure are thought of as being destructive.
Testes on hardened specimens made specifically for testing is destructive but it certainly does not damage a structure of course.
NON - DESTRUCTIVE test do not alter the sample or structure.
For example, surface ground penetrating, half cell potential, all varieties of ultrasound techniques. Some non destructive tests in concrete are similar to those in metals items others are not.
