In graphite the carbon atoms are bond by three electrons with one free electron which makes graphite a conductor, whereas in diamond the carbons are attached by all four electrons which makes diamond the hardest natural substance

1. Diamond is bad conductor of electricity while graphite is good.
2. Diamond is hard while graphite is soft.
3.diamond is transparent while graphite is opaque.
