The difference between aerobic and anaerobic respiration​ is as follows :

Aerobic Respiration :

1. Takes place in presence of oxygen.

2. More energy is released.

3. Complete oxidation of glucose takes place.

4. It takes place in cytoplasm and mitochondria

5. It end products are carbon dioxide and water.

Anaerobic Respiration :

1. Takes place in absence of oxygen.

2. Less energy is released.

3. Incomplete oxidation of glucose takes place.

4. It takes place only in cytoplasm.

5. It end products are carbon dioxide and ethanol.
