WAVELENGTH AND DIFFRACTION. The reason for the difference—that is, why sound diffraction is more pronounced than light diffraction—is that sound waves are much, much larger than light waves. Soundtravels by longitudinal waves, or waves in which the movement of vibration is in thesame direction as the wave itself

vibration means to and fro and forth motion of an object is termed as vibration and the same is for oscillatory motion also so we could say it is also vibration
