Difference between discrete and continuous channel in data communication:
Discrete communication channels:
- A discrete channel has discrete input and output.
- It has a channel transition probability matrix.
Continuous communication channels:
- A continuous channel can be converted into a discrete channel, when the digital modulator is used for feeding the channel and a digital demodulator give the channel output.
- A continuous channel has an input and output ensemble, the channel noise and bandwidth.
