Example : Zn + CuSO4 -------- ZnSO4 + Cu
Double displacement reaction : It the type of chemical reaction in which two different ions or group of atoms in the reactant molecules are displaced by each other, is called double displacement reaction. It is also known as precipitation reaction in which precipitate is produced.
Example : Na2SO4 + BaCl2 -------- BaSO4 + 2NaCl

When more active element displace less active element to form compound it is called displacement rxn.
And when the elements react by exchanging ions to form new compound is called double dis rxn.
