2) It can not be less than displacement .

3) When it is divided by time , we get speed of the body .

4) It can not be equal to 0 .

5) It's a scalar quantity .

DISPLACEMENT

1) The shortest path possible by the body is called displacement .

2) It is equal to or greater than distance .

3) When it is divided by time, we get the velocity of the body .

4) It can be equal to 0 .

5) Its a vector quantity .

Distance:-

Distance is the length of the actual path traversed by a body, irrespective of its direction of motion.

Distance between two given given points may be same or different paths chosen.

It is a scalar quantity.

Distance covered is always positive or zero.

Displacement:-

Displacment is the shortest distance between the initial and final positions of a body in a given direction.

Displacement between two given points is always same.

It is a vector quantity.

Displacement covered may be positive, negative or zero.
