Distance is a scalar quantity that refers to "how much ground an object has covered" during its motion. Displacement is a vector quantity that refers to "how far out of place an object is"; it is the object's overall change in position.

there are amny differences between distance and displacement . for starters

distance is a scalar quantity and displacement is a vector

2) distance is the total magnitude of movement of a body while displacement is the disyance between two points.

3) distance is either zero or more than that, dispacement can be zero or negative

4) distances , dispacement-s with a arrow on it

5) distance can either be equal or more than displace ment

this clearly demarcates the dfference between distance and dispacement

hope this helps bro :)
