Distance:-

It is the total length of the path covered by the body. It is a scalar quantity that is it only has magnitude and no direction. It can never be zero. It is always greater or equal to displacement but never smaller than displacement.

Displacement:-

The shortest distance between the initial and the final position of the body is known as displacement. It is a vector quantity that is , it has both direction and magnitude. It can be zero. It is always smaller or equal to distance but can never be greater than distance.
