Answer:

Distance is a scalar quantity that refers to "how much ground an object has covered" during its motion.

Displacement is a vector quantity that refers to "how far out of place an object is"; it is the object's overall change in position.

Distinguish between distance and displacement ?

 \huge \pink {\tt {\underbrace {\overbrace {\ulcorner {\mid {\overline {\underline {Answer:}}}}}}}}

Distance :- The total path/length covered by the object

scalar quantity :- The distance covered by an object can never be zero

__________________________________________________

Displacement :- The shortest distance measured bfrom the initial position to the final position of an object in a particular direction

vector quantity :- The displacement maybe zero, or equal to displacement or less that distance

Note :-

Distance and displacement are 2 different physical quantities used to discribe the overall motion of an object and to locate it's final position with reference to its initial at a given time
