distance= total length of path through which body moons is called distance
displacement=shortest distance from the initial to final position of the body is the magnitude of displacement and its direction is from the initial position to the final position

distance is scalar quantity whereas displacement is vector quantity. After having a circular round distance covered is x km/hr but displacement is zero
