Neither issue of bonus shares nor stocks split change the value of the company. Difference between bonusshares and dividends: Dividends are a part of company's annual profit that it distributes to its shareholders. Bonusshares are issued from a company's retained earnings held back for many years.

Answer

A bonus is a free additional share while a stock split is the same share divided into two. ... Both stocks splits and bonus issues result in an increase in the number of shares outstanding.
