Answer:

DNA

1) it is double stranded

2) it does not have a oxygen in attached to 2nd carbon so it is called as "deoxyribose".

3) it was formed on the earth after the formation of RNA

RNA

1) it is single stranded

2) it has oxygen in the 2nd carbon

3) the first formed genetic material is RNA

in the image attached above left one is RNA and the right one is DNA

hope it helps....

Difference between

DNA

RNA

Name - ▪DeoxyriboNucleic Acid , ▪RiboNucleic Acid.

Function- ▪Long-term storage of genetic information; transmission of genetic information to make other cells and new organisms.

▪RNA is used to transmit genetic information in some organisms and may have been the molecule used to store genetic blueprints in primitive organisms.

Structural- ▪FeaturesB-form double helix. DNA is a double-stranded molecule consisting of a long chain of nucleotides.A-form helix.

▪RNA usually is a single-strand helix consisting of shorter chains of nucleotides.

Propagation- ▪ DNA is self-replicating.

▪RNA is synthesized from DNA on an as-needed basis.

Ultraviolet- ▪DamageDNA is susceptible to UV damage.

▪Compared with DNA, RNA is relatively resistant to UV damage.
