Bhangar is the old alluvium deposit found in northern plains. It is present in the form of a terrace like feature. The soil in this region consists of calcareous deposits known as kankar.

Doab is made up of two words-'do' meaning two and 'ab' meaning water .Doab is the area lying between two rivers flowing in the same direction.
