Dominant traits:

➡ The trait which is able to express itself even in the presence of other contrasting trait is known as a dominant trait.

➡ These traits are more favourable.

➡ Example:

Tall pea plants are dominant over short pea plants.

Recessive traits:

➡ The trait which is not able to express itself in the presence of some dominant trait is known as a recessive trait.

➡These traits are less favourable.

➡ Example:

Dwarf pea plants are recessive over tall pea plants.
