difference between drilling and quarrying. pls answer

Drilling - Produce (a hole) in something by or as if by boring with a drill. 
(of a person or machine) Sow (seed) with a drill. 

Quarrying - Extract (stone or other materials) from a quarry. 
Cut into (rock or ground) to obtain stone or other materials.

Drilling: there are many ground chamber in a a shaft mine these miners use lift to reach these Chambers to extract oil and natural gas wells are dug this process is called drilling

Quarrying: minerals that are located very close to the surface are simply dug out this method is called quarrying
