Difference between dry type and flooded evaporator

Evaporator is said to be flooded type if liquid refrigerant covers the entire heat transfer surface. This type ofevaporator uses a float type of expansion valve. An evaporator is called dry type when a portion of theevaporator is used for superheating the refrigerant vapour after its evaporation.
