difference between east flowing and West flowing rivers of the peninsular plateau

● East flowing rivers drains into bay of bengal and west flowing rivers drains into Arabian sea.
● East flowing rivers make delta at the mouth of the sea and west flowing rivers make estuary at the mouth of the sea.
● Area drained by East flowing rivers are greater and area drained by West flowing rivers are shorter than that of East flowing rivers.
● Examples of East flowing rivers are Godavari , Krishna etc.
And examples of West flowing rivers are Narmada and Tapi.

The rivers flowing westward on the peninsular plateau are generally small but rivers Narmada and Tapi are exceptions to this.

These rivers do not form deltas.
