hey friend your answer.
The primary difference between, elastic and inelastic collisions is, in elastic collision, kinetic energy is conserved and in inelastic collisions, kinetic energy is not conserved. But in both elastic andinelastic collisions, momentum is conserved.

hope it helpful for you.

Basic differences :-

In Elastic collision

Linear momentum is conserved.

Kinetic energy is conserved.

Where as…

In Inelastic collision

Only linear momentum is conserved.

Kinetic energy is not conserved.

For convenience….

Elastic collision is actually rare to spot because usually these types of collisions occur between the molecules…Inelastic collision is easy to visualise as most of the collisions taking place around us are Inelastic collisions only in which there is loss of energy in one form or another.

For example :- collision between vehicle is simplest example…. Here on collision the energy is transformed in the form of heat, sound, light etc types of energy.
