A hundred years ago there was only Electrical Engineering. Due to developments in technology of analog and semiconductor devices, Electronics engineering developed.
Electrical engineering deals with Electrical power generation, transmission, electrical circuits with Inductors, capacitors, Resistances, Electromagnetic induction and so on. Usually the voltages and currents etc. in EE are high.
The electronics circuits that are used for controlling electrical circuits and equipment are also part of electrical circuits. TV video tubes etc. are also electrical engineering. Manufacturing of heavy electrical equipment is also electrical engineering.
Electronics engineering deals with semiconductors, printed circuit boards, electronic hardware such as that present in computers, calculators, cell phones, tabs, iPhones, Telephone exchanges, TVs etc. IC or Integrated Chips are part of Electronics.
