Difference between Element,Compound,Mixture,with examples.

elements are things which cant be broken down,i.e is divided further eg. different metals & non metals
mixture are combinations of 2 or more things eg,alloys ,colloids etc
compounds are formed when two elements are fixed in fixed ratio,for eg.oxygen

Element

An element is made up of only one type of atoms or molecules.

For example:

Oxygen element is made up of only oxygen atoms.

Compound

A compound is made up of two or more elements which are chemically combined in a fixed proportion.

For example:

Carbon dioxide is a compound made up of carbon and oxygen atoms.

Mixture

A mixture is made up of elements and compounds which are not present in fixed proportion.

For example:

Air is a mixture of many gases.
