The difference between “immigrate” and “emigrate” is that “immigrating” is the act of entering a foreign country to live while “emigrating” is the act of leaving a country to live in another.
Immigration and emigration both are movement of people from one country to another. Emigration means leaving a country permanently to live in another and Immigration mean moving into a new country and getting settled there.
