Compassion: A feeling of wanting to help someone who is suffering. Sympathy: the Natural feeling that you care for another and can emotionally connect with their suffering. Empathy: Not a feeling but a skill that can be learned, to cognitively understand another's perspective and therefore the resulting emotions the person must be experiencing.
