Difference between endocrine glands and exocrine glands

Exocrine glands have a duct to put out their secretions eg salivary gland, saliva is poured into mouth by salivary duct Endocrine glands- secretions of endocrine glands are poured into blood without any duct eg thyroid gland

Endocrine glands:-

  1. These are ductless gland.
  2. Their secretions are known as Hormones.
  3. The secretion is not directly transported into tissues it is transferred through blood.
  4. For example:- Thyroid gland, Pituitary gland, etc.

Exocrine glands

  1. A duct is often present.
  2. Their secretions are excretory or lubricant, enzymatic and metabolic.
  3. The secretion is directly poured into tissues.
  4. For example:- Sweat glands, Sebaceous glands, etc.
