ANSWER

Total kinetic energy is the sum of translational, vibrational and rotational kinetic energies. The total kinetic energy is equal to the translational kinetic energy for monoatomic gases (He, Ne etc) as they do not posses vibrational and rotational motion but have only translational motion.
