Epiboly :

Epiboly is a cell movement that occurs in the early embryo at the same time as gastrulation. It is one of many movements in the early embryo.

It occur only in the prospective ectodermal blastomeres, which have a inherent property of flattening and forming a cohering epithelial layer. Thus, epiboly may be referred to the motility displayed by amoebocytes.

Emboly :

The embolic morphogenetic movements or emboly are concerned with inward migration of prospective chorda-mesodermal and endodermal blastomeres from the external surface of the blastula and their extension along antero-posterior axis of the developing embryo. The tendency of inward migration of mesodermal and endodermal cells is inherent to these cells and there is a convincing reason for such a peculiar behaviour of these cells.

~ types of cells involved in epiboly are micromeres whereas in emboly ,for involution or rolling in of cells ,the cells involved are micromeres and for ivagination or in pushing of cells, the cells involved are macromeres or megameres.

~ location for the process of epiboly ,in the forming gastrula , is animal zone or pole, whereas for emboly, involution it is equatorial zone and for invagination it is vegetal zone.

~ the germ layer formed after epiboly is the ectoderm and in the case of embol, involution process gives rise to chordamesoderm

and after the process of invagination, endoderm is formed.
