I) ethanol has a sweet odour but ethanoic acid has a pungent smell .

II) ethanol do not react with sodium hydrogen carbonate but ethanoic acid reacts with sodium hydrogen carbonate .

III)ethanol do not change blue Litmus to Red but ethanoic acid changes blue Litmus to red .
