Exothermic Reaction: The reaction in which heat is given out is known as exothermic reaction.

Endothermic Reaction: The reaction in which heat is absorbed is knows as endothermic reaction.

eg.  \bold{H_{2} O \stackrel{\Delta }{\longrightarrow } H_{2} + O_{2} }
