A species classified as vulnerable faces threats, like loss of habitat and poaching, in the wild that may cause it to go extinct. ... In other words, near threatened species' problems have intensified or continued so their population has decreased to a worrisome level; they are now vulnerable.

Answer:

The difference between extinct and vulnerable are as follows- Vulnerable species face threats due to poaching, deforestation, loss of habitat, etc.

These days, their problems have intensified, and as their population is diminishing slowly, they are on the brink of extinction. They are species that face constant threats and are slowly moving to the endangered category. They presently survive, but, their population is decreasing day by day. Eg- Blue sheep, Asiatic elephant, Gangetic dolphin, etc.

Extinct species are species that don't exist presently. Also due to constant threats, including poaching, habitat loss, environmental conditions, etc. They have disappeared from the face of the Earth.

Hope this helps ;-)
