1) Filaments are used for lighting a bulb.

Whereas, fuses are used to avoid short circuits.

2) Filaments have a lot of tolerance against heat.

Whereas, fuses melt if the amount if the current passing through the circuit passes its limit.

3) Filaments have chemically inactive nitrogen and argon stored in them to prolong their life.

Whereas Fuses only consist of soft metal.
