In forward bias, a diode offers minimum resistance and allows current to flow but in Reverse bias, a diode offers infinite resistance and no current flows.

Hope it helps.

Forward biased diode :

•When positive terminal of the external source is connected to p-side and negative terminal to n-side, the diode is said to be forward biased.

•In this electrons from n-side and holes from p-side are pushed towards the junction.

Reverse biased diode:

•When positive terminal of the external source is connected to n-side and negative terminal to p-side,

the diode is reverse biased.

•In this free electrons and holes moves away from the junction.

Hope it hepls...
