Answer: Multiple fission is different from fragmentation.

Explanation: It is also a type of asexual reproduction, in which the organism forms a cyst around it in unfavourable condition and continuously multiply inside the cyst. When the condition gets favourable, the cyst breaks opens, releasing numerous daughter cells which develop into the new organisms. This process is called multiple fission.

Example in Chlamydomonas.

Fragmentation is also a type of asexual reproduction, in which the body of multicellular lower plants break up into two or more parts and each part develops into a complete individual, example spirogyra, a filamentous algae.
