Frictional unemployment is not a direct cause of economic factors and occurs when workers search for jobs. Conversely, structural unemploymentis caused by shifts in the economy, which makes it difficult for workers to find employment.

Frictional Unemployement :- The movement of labour from one industry to another power from one place to another takes time.Unemployement during this moment is called frictional unemployment.' It means job are there job seekers are also there but the rigidities and frictions in the economy prevent direct contact between employers and the unemployed.

Structural Unemployement :- As time password some new economic activities in emerge. Some economic activities gain in importance while some other lose. By this labour force can not immediately be matched with the change in demand pattern therefore there shall be jobs in certain sectors of the economy and there shall be people searching jobs in other sectors of the economy. This is known as structural unemployment.
