Explanation:

Rear disc brakes are basically the same thing as front-wheel disc brakes. ... They consist of three main parts: brake pads, a caliper, and a rotor. Brake pads are located on each side of the rotor and are actually pushed against the rotor to stop the wheel and thereby stop your vehicle.

Answer:

Why do two wheelers have disk brakes in front tyres and not in rear one?

The reason behind this is that 70% of braking is concentrated at the front wheel and only 30% is on the rear.

Disk brakes are fluid(oil) operated…hence once the lever is pulled, the fluid rushes through the pipe line and activates the brake pads which hold on to the disk.

When applied suddenly these brakes tend to lock up as they are very sensitive. where as drum assembly is not a very sensitive approach.

In drum brakes the brake shoe holds on to the drum and braking action is achieved.

Coming to the question.

Disk brakes are for braking sooner or braking st high speeds where as drum brakes are for slightly slower and depending on the pressure you apply.

On the road these days you will find many bikes with a rear disk brake ie. Because they are meant for high speeds and require much more braking force which can't be achieved by a drum brake assembly.

Having disk brakes on rear wheel on a light weight vehicle will be disastrous as they rear wheel will lock each time you apply brake and cause the vehicle to skid.

Hence, when it comes to high speeds and heavy vehicles having rear disk brake is a better option but for city bike and those meant for slow speeds a rear drum assembly is the best another advantage is its cheap and low maintenance.
