FUTURE GOODS

Goods to be manufactured or acquired by a seller after a contract of sale has been made. Future goods must be distinguished as the subject of a contract of sale from existing goods, which are owned or possessed by a seller. From: future goods in A Dictionary of Law.

CONTINGENT GOODS

The contingent goods are a type of future goods. In this case, the acquisition of goods by the seller depends upon the uncertain contingencies, i.e., upon uncertain events which may or may not happen. Example. Paul agreed to sell to John certain goods, which are to be arrived by a ship.
