Galaxy: (a) A collection of star systems.
(b) Any of the billions of systems each having many stars and nebulae and dust.
Constellation: (a) A configuration of stars as seen from the earth.
(b) A small grouping of stars.

A galaxy is a vast collection of stars,dust and gases held together by gravitational attraction between it’s components.
A group of stars whose outlines form a recognizable figure is called a constellation.
Galaxies have two common shapes,spiral and elliptical. Some galaxies are of irregular shapes.
Constellations can be of any shape.
