Gametophyte: It is a multi cellular structure or generation in life cycle of a plant which is capable of forming gametes directly from its cells. The cells of gametophyte are always haploid or have single genomes or one set of chromosomes.

Sporophyte: It is a multicellular structure or generation in the life cycle of a plant which possess diploid cells or cells which two genomes or two sets of chromosomes. It produces haploid spores or meiospores through the process of meiosis in its diploid

Gametophyte body and  Saprophytic self-incompatibility

Explanation:

Gametophyte Body-

  • A gametophyte is one of the two exchanging stages in the existing pattern of plants and green growth.
  • It is a haploid multicellular living being that creates from a haploid spore that has one lot of chromosomes.
  • The gametophyte is the sexual stage in the existing pattern of plants and green growth.

Saprophytic self-incompatibility -

  • The most widely recognized sort is a sporophytic self-contradiction, in which the emissions of the stigmatic tissue or the transmitting tissue forestall the germination or development of contrary dust.
  • The reaction is hereditarily constrained by at least one multi-allelic  loci, and depends on a progression of complex cell collaborations between the self-contradictory dust and pistil.
