The main difference between a paste and a gel is that a paste is solid or not translucent, contain finely powered medicaments. Gels are transparent or translucent and have a cooling effect. Gels may also be used as a lubricant.

Gel and Non-gel Toothpaste:

The non-gel toothpaste is thicker in their consistency while gel kinds of toothpaste are lighter and clearer. People have been using various natural products to clean their teeth for thousands of years. But, it was only in the twentieth century that proper tubes of toothpaste were made.

GEL TOOTHPASTE:

  • The first toothpaste was made of very thick pastes but as technology advanced they were made clearer and now we have toothpaste in the form of gel toothpaste. The gel toothpaste is made of silica which makes it clearer.

NON-GEL TOOTHPASTE:

  • While the non-gel toothpaste is thick paste. Some people prefer using the paste because it produces more foam but some prefer gel toothpaste because it gives a more refreshing feeling. But, the basic factor which is cleaning is same for both the toothpaste.
