Answer:

➡️A gene is a stretch of DNA or RNA that determines a certain trait.

➡️Genes mutate and can take two or more alternative forms;

➡️An allele is one of these forms of a gene.

➡️Chromosomes occur in pairs so organisms have two alleles for eachgene — one allele in each chromosome in the pair.

Hey there!

Answer:

Gene is the basic physical & functional unit of heredity.

Allele is just a variant of a gene.

Explanation:

Some Genes have different forms. ''Allele'' literally means 'Other Form'. It was first used to be describe variant forms of genes detected as different phenotypes.

         Phenotype is just the observable characteristics of an organism.

Each gene exist at a specific location (on a chormosome) in 2 Copies. One Copy each of the Gene inherited from each Parent. The Copies are not necessarily the same. When the copies of a gene differ from each other, they are known as alleles.

A given gene may have multiple different alleles. Yet, only 2 alleles are present at the gene’s locus in any individual.

Hope it helps!
