Difference between generalized coordinates and degree of freedom

Firstly, degrees of flexibility is the NUMBER of general directions required to depict the EOM. Essentially saying "Generalised coordinates" is somewhat unclear. Also, not every one of the directions is required. Under most examples, we accept that bodies are inflexible, implying that particles are compelled to each other, and we just need to think about the body in general. Else we would require an arrangement of directions to depict every molecule.
Notwithstanding that, there are imperative powers which moreover disposes off the level of flexibility.
