Auxin is a plant hormone which plays important role in plant growth movement like phototropism and geotropism. In phototropism, plant stem bends towards the light as it has the least amount of auxin. The shaded side contains high amount of auxin and helps in elongation. In geotropism, auxin triggers downward growth of roots. High concentration of it inhibits cell elongation in roots.
