1. Glycolysis is the breakdown of glucose into pyruvate and citric acid cycle converts pyruvate into carbon dioxide.

2. Glycolysis occurs in cytoplasm while citric acid  cycle occur in mitochondria.

3. Glycolysis occur both in the presence or absence of oxygen while citric acid cycle occur in the presence of oxygen.

4. Glycolysis produce less energy comparatively i.e. 8 ATP while citric acid cycle produce more energy i.e. 24 ATP.

5. Glycolysis is a linear pathway while citric acid cycle is circular pathway.

The main difference between glycolysis and Krebs cycle is: Glycolysis is the first step involved in the process of respiration and occurs in the cytoplasm of the cell. While Krebs Cycle is the second process of respiration which occurs in the mitochondria of the cell. Both are the process involved in respiration with the aim of fulfilling the energy requirement of the body.
