\mathfrak{\huge\underline{Answer:}} ,

Glycolysis takes place inside the cytoplasm of a eukaryotic living cell. It converts glucose into 2 molecules of pyruvic acid and net gain of 2 ATP Molecules.

Fermentation always takes in both eukaryotic fungi and bacteria. It also takes place in muscle cells. With the formation of 2 ATP molecules

It is of 2 types:

Alcoholic fermentation

Lactic acid fermentation

Glycolysis

1. In glycolysis, glucose is converted into pyruvate.

2.It takes place with or without the presence of oxygen.

3.It results in a net gain of 2 ATP.

4.The pyruvate enters the citric acid cycle.

Fermentation

1. During fermentation, pyruvate is converted to alcohol or lactic acid.

2. It takes place in presence of oxygen.

3. No ATP is produced.

4. The pyruvate is converted into ethanol or lactic acid and NAD+ is regenerated.
